At Hope & A Future we bring the generations together to help everyone flourish. We are regularly encouraged when long time and new friends thank us for this welcoming place. We are grateful for the privilege of watching intergenerational relationships overcome loneliness and helping all generations flourish.
This week I experienced the joy of talking with people of all ages. I communicated with the staff and family members of our residents. I talked with people working to set up care systems for loved ones. I talked with people interested in living in our community, people interested in working here. And with young professionals trying to think outside the box when it comes to providing support for vulnerable community members. I talked to children trying to figure out life. And I talked with people expecting babies. That’s a fun week! This kind of week reaffirms my thinking that we must harness the knowledge and super power of people who have lived in engaged intergenerational communities and understand that we are better together. At Hope & A Future, we know first hand that engaged communities increase the potential for creative living and learning for all generations.
And that is why we are excited to be working so hard to break ground in 2026! As we take steps to make that happen we are encouraged. This year as our Board of Directors talked about renewing our giving pledges, we decided to create a matching grant. We hope to raise enough money to gain a naming opportunity for one of the spaces we are fundraising for. We will make an opportunity for our matching donors to help us name the space. Which space we name will depend on how much money is raised. We have pledged $40,000.00. Together with some of you, we hope to raise $80,000. (or more!) by the end of the year. Then we will decide which space we will name–with your suggestions. We hope you will join the fun!

There are many plates spinning as we work to bring this multifaceted project together. I look forward to sharing more as decisions are finalized in the coming months.
We have so much to be thankful for at Hope & A Future. We are especially grateful to the many people who have become part of our lives. Working together to create a loving place where all generations flourish together brings Hope to everyone’s Future!
