At Hope & A Future, we finished 2025 with a lot of excitement on many fronts! A much loved staff person now has a beautiful baby girl and another has twins on the way! We welcomed Norma to our staff and she is a wonderful addition! We are beyond grateful for all of our hardworking staff. Our amazing army of volunteers–which includes our Board of Directors is a continuing miracle. The love and brilliant energy they pour into our mission is an important part of our life blood! Together we enjoyed lots of fun and holiday cheer in 2025!

To top it all off, end of year donations surpassed our hopes! Pledges and donations totalled $287,000.00 in the last quarter! Our volunteer Board of Directors pledged a $40,000.00 matching grant before giving Tuesday and thanks to many of you, we surpassed it! Then to our surprise, Dear Friends of Hope & A Future, pledged a $100,000.00 matching grant that continues in 2026! Shortly after that Pleasant Rowland’s Foundation pledged an additional $100,000.00 matching grant for 2026! We feel grateful and honored by the community’s support. Together we are combatting loneliness by bringing the generations together in ways that help everyone flourish! With matching grants still in place, we are so close to our fundraising goal that we have begun discussions with banks about a construction loan! There has never been a better time to give! 
For those of you following us, you likely know that we have plans to build 15 life lease units for people 55 and over. We continue to have very strong interest in these units. If you want to learn more about our community, please consider joining us at one of our next New Beginnings Conversations. We will hold one on Wednesday January 28th from 10AM to 11:30AM and another on Saturday March 14th from 10 to 11:30AM. You can let us know you plan to come by emailing us at [email protected] We have a reservation list for these units and a few are still open. Please plan to bring your thoughts and questions.
Now that it is 2026, there is even more excitement! Brava Magazine (January/February 2026) features me ( Karin) in their Woman To Watch for 2026! What an honor to be featured with this group of women. All working to create systems that build stronger communities by empowering all to flourish.
