Hope & A Future is a non-profit intergenerational community where individuals feel a sense of purpose and empowerment through caring for each other.
We believe that every person has the right to live fully, happily, and with dignity at each stage of life.
Loneliness is an epidemic.
We can be part of the cure.
More than half of adults consider themselves lonely.
Over the past 20 years, Hope & A Future has quietly created an award-winning Adult Family Home where we involve a “family of friends” staffing model and community volunteers in caring for adults in their last stage of life. Most staff live on site.
This model is rooted in a culture of care, where deep social connections and embedded service to one another empower people of all ages to thrive.
Now we are entering a new phase, with expanded housing and services. We hope you will join us on this journey.
I don’t live in a facility! I share a home with people who know how to help me. -former resident Rosemarie Lasecki
Our history
Hope & A Future Founder Karin Krause, an RN and nursing supervisor, recalls growing up in a small town in Wisconsin where neighbors looked out for one another. Her father’s death at a young age brought the community together to help her family. However, as a teenager, visiting a neighbor in a nursing home led her to question how care for the elderly is provided. This experience, combined with her professional background and personal memories, motivated her to strive for a return to the caring community she enjoyed in her childhood. That’s how Hope & A Future began.
